Ag - Silver

The precious metal silver was known to the ancients. Our students encounter silver nitrate when studying reactions and as Tollen's reagent to test for aldehydes. The electrochemistry of silver is also investigated. Uses of silver and its compounds include ornamentation, electronics and antibacterial agents.
