Substance Use & Gambling Surveys College Surveys

The first ever Texas statewide college/university survey was conducted by the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse in association with the Public Policy Research Institute of Texas A&M University in 1997. The survey provides estimates of the prevalence and frequency of use of tobacco, alcohol, inhalants, and a variety of illicit drugs in addition to other substance-related behavior. The survey was conducted via telephone and is based on the responses of 2,420 full-time undergraduates aged 18 to 26 from seven of the eight largest public and the three largest private universities in Texas.
