Research Interests:
The study of the function of carotenoids in natural and artificial photosynthetic systems is one facet of our research. In particular, we are involved with the synthesis and characterization of carotenoids and components of artificial supramolecular ensembles which are designed for studying electron and proton transfer. The research emphasizes synthetic chemistry along with steady-state and transient absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies.
